Dogs at the Southold Shelter
Sometimes my family would just let me loose during the day and I would end up lost and at the shelter . My family would always come pick me up but This last time was different………. I waited and waited and they never came. I am now at the shelter and I need a new forever family! One who wont let me loose and not worry about me . The shelter staff can see how much I miss my humans and love people. I am a mellow girl who just wants belly rubs and human attention. Please help me know love again. I am currently The North Fork Animal Welfare League, Inc .
If you can’t take me in to your home please share so maybe someone who can sees me!!

8 year old spayed female located in NY
Sashatini is a sweet, enthusiastic, strong, Shar Pei mix. She never knew love until she was four years old. In January 2019 she was surrendered with six other dogs from a bad backyard breeding situation to the NFAWL at Southold. The dogs lived outside in kennels with very little human interaction. Sashatini was covered in bite wounds, fleas and ticks. She was sweet buy highly energetic and did not know how to act around people. Even with the horrible life she lived, she was never aggressive. It was her strength, size and lack of social skills that kept her at the shelter while the rest of the dogs were adopted.
Eight months later she still sits in her kennel waiting for her forever home. She has come a long way from her early days at the shelter and is now ready to make some family very lucky. Thanks to the NFAWL staff and volunteers Sashatini now has basic obedience and is highly adoptable . She walks well on a leash, sits for treats and is great at adoption events but still has no home. She has never slept peacefully in a bed. She has never had and family to love or love her.
Unfortunately, Sasha is getting very anxious at the shelter, and even with all her training, walks and attention, she needs more. She is beginning to fail. It is imperative to find her forever home so she can continue with all the progress she has made. A home and a family is the next step.
If someone will give her a chance, they will have the most loyal dog for life
